Peter C. Edwards, Principal Member

Peter C. Edwards primarily practices in the areas of bankruptcy, debtor and creditor rights, civil litigation, family law, estate planning, probate, business organization, and general corporate representation.

Peter represents clients located throughout Southwest-Missouri and the four-state area including business owners, startup companies, real estate developers, financial institutions, commercial property owners, as well as everyday people with everyday problems.

Peter has significant experience in assisting clients with general corporate matters, including corporate formation and maintenance, employment contracts, non-competition agreements, and shareholder agreements. Peter also devotes much of his practice to litigation, including business disputes, real estate disputes, and other areas of civil litigation. In the course of Peter’s practice, he has argued cases in front of arbitrators, mediators, judges and juries.

Peter was born and raised in Joplin, Missouri.  After completing college and law school at the University of Missouri-Columbia, Peter returned to practice law in Joplin.  Peter and his wife Jeni have 3 children.  Peter enjoys being a father and is very active in his kids’ activities.  Peter serves his community be serving as the Assistant City Attorney for the City of Joplin for the last 9 years.  Peter office shares with his father Charles, a practicing attorney for 40 years, and a former Joplin Municipal Judge for 18 years.
